TPN Ganjar-Mahfud Asks For Legal Process For Participants In The 2024 Election To Be Postponed
JAKARTA - The Ganjar-Mahfud National Winning Team (TPN) assesses that the legal process involving election participants, ranging from presidential candidates, vice presidential candidates, legislative candidates (caleg) to winning teams should be postponed. This step is considered necessary to prevent criminalization.
"I ask that there be a policy of delaying the legal process against legislative candidates, presidential candidates, vice presidential candidates and supporters if there are campaign teams," said Deputy for Legal Affairs TPN Ganjar-Mahfud, Todung Mulya Lubis, to reporters at the Media Center, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Friday, December 29.
The legal process that runs and involves election participants, continued Todung, is considered to be able to disrupt the democratic climate. It can also be a tool to suppress," he said.

Therefore, Todung suggested that the legal process should be postponed. "There should be no abuse of power, including directing law enforcement officials to carry out legal proceedings," he stressed.
"Is it an investigation, an investigation, let alone prosecution and a court. It's absolutely not allowed," he continued.
Todung then mentioned that there are a number of countries that have similar policies. It is emphasized that if the democratic climate does not run well, it will also be harmed by the community.
"The legal process will make the climate unfair and make voters afraid and make presidential candidates, vice presidents, legislative candidates feel monitored as if they are hostages," he concluded.
