1,241 APK Violates Rules In Semarang Confiscated By Bawaslu, Most Come From Gerindra

JATENG - The Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) of Semarang City secured 1,241 campaign props (APK) violating the rules installed in the area.

Head of Semarang City Bawaslu Arief Rahman said that his party found many installations of APKs that violated the provisions, especially in the Jatingaleh Flyover area.

"We urge political parties not to repeat the installation of political party flags in the Jatingaleh Flyover area," he said in Semarang, Friday, December 29, which was confiscated by Antara.

He emphasized that the control was carried out based on the results of coordination with the Semarang City Bawaslu for violating KPU Regulation Number 15 of 2023 concerning Election Campaigns, Mayor Regulation Number 65 of 2018, and Semarang City KPU Decree Number 626 of 2023.

Control is carried out by the Election Supervisory Committee (Panwaslu) of Banyumanik, Tembalang, Candisari sub-districts, as well as village panwaslu, together with local police.

In addition to disturbing the beauty of the city, he said, it also has the potential to endanger road users if the stick or pole falls across the road, which can cause traffic accidents, considering that the area is congested with vehicles.

Arief said that 1,241 APKs were brought under control, consisting of the results of the control by Panwaslu, Banyumanik District as many as 554 APK, Panwaslu Candisari District as many as 192 APK, and Panwaslu Tembalang District as many as 455 APK.

The APK that violated and was brought under control came from the Gerindra Party as many as 345 APK, the Indonesian Solidarity Party as many as 300 APK, the PDI Perjuangan as many as 151 APK, PKS as many as 97 APK, Golkar as many as 101 APK, and Gelora as many as 96 APK.

The results of controlling the APB violating the rules, he continued, were then stored in the sub-district storage warehouse.

Later, he said, political parties participating in the election could contact the local sub-district committee regarding the APB that was brought under control.

He hopes that this control will serve as a reminder to all election participants to carry out campaigns in an orderly manner and comply with applicable regulations.

"Including, being willing to discipline independently if you get an appeal from the Semarang City Bawaslu if the installation violates," said Arief.
