Ernie Bot Dari Baidu Rai Lebih Dari 100 Juta Pengguna
JAKARTA - On Thursday, December 28, Wang Haifeng, chief technology officer of Chinese internet company Baidu, announced that Ernie Bot, which is similar to ChatGPT, has attracted more than 100 million users.
The achievement was announced at a summit of deep learning in Beijing, after the search engine giant opened Ernie Bot to the public in August. Previously, there were partial disclosures and trial periods for more than five months, where selected users could test the chatbot's capabilities.
Analysts stated that although partial disclosures in March were less than satisfactory, it still provided the company's first valuable advantage in the market which has since been packed with dozens of players. Chinese tech companies, large and small, are competing to develop their own chatbot powered by generative artificial intelligence (AI).
The move follows the launch of the ChatGPT from US research organization OpenAI, at the end of 2022, which is the world's fastest growing software app in six months.

Since then, investors have assessed OpenAI's more than 80 billion US dollars (IDR 1,235.5 trillion). Although OpenAI's parent is a non-profit organization, Microsoft has invested 13 billion US dollars (IDR 200.7 trillion) in a profit-oriented subsidiary, to gain 49% stake.
Baidu CEO Robin Li has repeatedly promoted the potential of Ernie Bot and its related products to help companies acquire market share in its main business, including search engines, clouds, and smart cars.
According to a rating published on Thursday by SuperCLUE, which assesses chatbots powered by generative artificial intelligence, Ernie Bot leads all Chinese chatbots, but the score is 79.02 lower than 10 points compared to the latest version of ChatGPT.
