Garuda Flys 71,678 Passengers At The Peak Of The Christmas Holiday Departure

JAKARTA - Garuda Indonesia Group recorded passenger transportation of 71,678 people on all flights at the peak of the peak of the peak season for the 2023 Christmas holiday which falls on Friday, December 22.

The details are through the full-service Garuda Indonesia flight service of 33,961 passengers, and through the low cost carrier (LCC) Citilink service as many as 37,717 passengers with a total of 492 flights including 55 extra flights provided.

Specifically for departure from Soekarno Hatta International Airport at the peak of the peak of the Christmas and New Year season which crashed on Friday, December 22, Garuda Indonesia Group recorded at least 28,000 passengers, consisting of 15,000 Garuda Indonesia passengers and around 13,000 Citilink passengers with a total flight frequency of both airlines, which reached at least 156 flights provided at the peak of the peak of the peak season for Christmas 2023 and New Year 2024.

Garuda Indonesia President Director Irfan Setiaputra said, as of Wednesday, December 27, Garuda Indonesia Group projects that the number of passenger transportations is at least 666,197 people.

Irfan said that Garuda Indonesia Group continues to optimize the accessibility of its flight services, both from the aspect of availability of flight capacity and passenger services to facilitate the travel needs of service users during the 2023 Christmas and 2024 New Year holiday periods.

Furthermore, Irfan said, the surge in tourist flows during the Christmas and New Year 2023 holidays this time can be seen from the growth in passenger projections at the peak of peak season which increased by 20 percent compared to the peak of peak season Christmas and New Year last year which was recorded at around 60,000 passengers.

"Until today, we see that the movement of passengers is still moving dynamically in line with the enthusiasm of people who want to travel on vacation at the end of 2023," he explained.

On the other hand, said Irfan, during the peak momentum of the Christmas and New Year season this time, flight routes that become people's favorite routes for Garuda Indonesia are Jakarta-Denpasar pp, Jakarta-Surabaya pp, and Jakarta-Medan pp for domestic flights, as well as Jakarta-Singapore pp for international flights.

Meanwhile, continued Irfan, Citilink also recorded a number of routes with the highest flight frequency, including Jakarta-Medan pp, Jakarta-Batam pp and Jakarta-Denpasar pp.

Furthermore, Irfan said, the peak of backflow is projected to fall on Tuesday, January 2, 2024.

The total number of passengers projected to be transported by Garuda Indonesia Group during the peak season for Christmas 2023 and New Year 2024 (18 December 2023 to 8 January 2024) is at least 1,286,310 passengers.

"We project that this number will continue to grow by looking at the preference for planning backflow trips ahead of the peak season period which will end on January 8, 2024," concluded Irfan.
