Complete Faktif Credit Former President Director Of PT BPR Citama Ends Liquidity, LPS Aims For Other Tipibanks
JAKARTA - The Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS) took firm action against the former President Director (Managing Director) of PT Bank Perekonomian Rakyat (BPR) Cita Makmur Lestari (Citama) Tangerang regarding the fictitious credit application case.
The banking crime was carried out from January 2011 to March 2015.
"As a result of the 'fraud' carried out by the former President Director of BPR Citama, it caused BPR Citama to experience liquidity difficulties and revoked its business license by the Financial Services Authority on December 18, 2015," said Secretary of the LPS Institution Dimas Yuliharto in Jakarta, Wednesday, December 27, quoted by Antara.
Dalam proses perkaranya, mantan Dirut BPR Citama itu telah menjalani pemeriksaan dan ditetapkan bersalah melakukan tindak pidana dengan sengaja membuat atau menyebabkan adanya pencatatan palsu dalam bukuan atau laporan maupun dalam dokumen atau laporan kegiatan usaha, laporan transaksi/rekening bank pada 15 November 2023.
The former Director of BPR Citama has also been sentenced to seven years in prison and a fine of Rp. 10 billion, subsidiary to imprisonment for two months.
The convict's attorney is known to have not made an appeal, so the Tangerang District Court (PN) decision is also declared to have permanent legal force or inkracht.

Furthermore, as a form of LPS's commitment to law enforcement and providing a deterrent effect, LPS has also reported several failed bank managers suspected of committing Banking Crimes (Tipibank) or Money Laundering (TPPU).
Some of the bank administrators include former administrators of PT BPR Bina Dian Citra, Bekasi, PT BPR KS Bali Agung Sedana, Bali and PT BPR Sewu, Bali including parties working with bank administrators or employees and enjoying the results of the 'fraud'.
"LPS is serious about taking firm legal action against rogue bank administrators in the hope that management and all levels of banking shareholders in carrying out their duties and functions can meet the principles of prudence and implement good governance to maintain the trust of banking customers in Indonesia and create a healthy economy," he said.
