Two Cruise Ships Carry 3,000 Passengers Rayakan New Year In Bali
DENPASAR - Two cruise ships carrying around 3,000 passengers are scheduled to dock at Benoa Harbor, Denpasar, to celebrate the New Year 2024 in Bali which arrived on December 31, 2023, and January 1, 2024.
General Manager of Pelindo Benoa Anak Port Branch Agung Gde Agung Mataram in Denpasar, Wednesday, explained that the cruise ship, Oceania Nautica, is scheduled to dock at Benoa Harbor on December 31, 2023, and Norwegian Jewel on January 1, 2024.
"Nautica's cruise ship will be the 47th cruise ship to dock at Benoa Port during 2023," said Agung Mataram as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, December 27.
He explained that the state-flagged Nautica cruise ship of the Marshall Islands with a length of 181 meters carried about 500 passengers.
Based on data from the global cruise ship information provider Cruisemapper, the cruise ship weighs 30,277 tonnass (GT) sailing from Singapore on December 28, 2023 to Benoa Port, Bali, which arrived on December 31, 2023 and departed on January 1, 2023 to Darwin, Australia. Meanwhile, Norwegian Jewel cruise ship will be the first cruise ship to dock at Benoa Harbor on January 1, 2024.
Agung Mataram explained that the Bahamas-flagged ship was estimated to carry 2,500 passengers.
The cruise ship with a length of 294 meters and a weight of 93,502 GT departed from Laem Chabang, Chonburi Province, Thailand and sailed to a number of points in Southeast Asia, according to Cruisemapper data.
Before docking at Benoa Port Denpasar, the Norwegian Jewel cruise ship was scheduled to stop for half a day at Celukan Bawang Port, Buleleng Regency, North Bali.
Then to Lembar Harbor, NTB and on January 1, 2024 arrived at Denpasar Benoa Port to dock one night before leaving for Singapore on January 2, 2024.
"The Norwegian Jewel ship will be the first to enter in 2024 in Benoa," he added.

Benoa Port with the Bali Maritime Tourism Hub (BMTH) project is targeted to be able to accommodate up to five cruise ships docked at once at the same time in 2024.
Currently, the south pier of Benoa Port has been renovated and has a pier length of up to 500 meters so that it can be driven by two cruise ships at once.
Based on Pelindo Benoa Denpasar data, during January-December 2023 there were 50 cruise ships registered for docking, with the realization reaching 47 cruise ships until the end of 2023.
Meanwhile, in 2024 68 cruise ships will register for dock at Denpasar Benoa Port.
