Landslides On The West Sumatra-Riau Road Section Over A Motorbike And 1 House

SUMBAR - A motorcyclist who was passing on the Sumatra Cross Road (jalinsum) in West Sumatra (West Sumatra) towards Riau was buried by a landslide and declared dead.

"Floods and landslides that occurred in Limapuluh Kota Regency killed a passing motorist," said BPBD Operations Control Center (Pusdalops) personnel in Limapuluh Kota Regency, Ikhsan, in West Sumatra, Tuesday, December 26, confiscated by Antara.

He explained that floods and landslides occurred after heavy rains flushed the Regencies of Fifty Cities from 25-26 December morning.

The locations of the disaster are Harau District, Pangkalan Koto Baru District and Bukit Barisan District.

According to information compiled by the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Limapuluh Kota Regency, there were eight landslide points on the West Sumatra-Riau national road, consisting of two points in Nagari (village) Harau, six points in Nagari Koto Alam, and one point in Nagari Maek.

Until 15.00 WIB, the joint team consisting of BPBD of Fifty Cities, TNI and Polri continued to evacuate landslide material manually and with the help of heavy equipment.

The temporary impact of the disaster was that one housing unit in Nagari Maek was heavily damaged, about 15 meters the West Sumatra-Riau road was eroded, four road points were covered by materials and the Harau Valley tourist facilities were flooded.

Not only that, the BPBD team of Limapuluh Kota Regency has not been able to reach the flood location in Pangkalan Koto Baru District due to road access to the location of the total break-up buried by landslide material.

"For the time being, we are still constrained by data collection on the impact of flooding in Pangkalan District because colleagues in the field are still confined to landslides on the West-Riau Sumatra Cross Road," he said.

Untuk mengantisipasi banjir susulan BPBD setempat berkoordinasi dengan PLN Nusantara Power Koto Panjang, terkait penambahan pintu pelempah air reservoir atau spillway gate.

"This is done to reduce the elevation of the Koto Panjang hydropower reservoir in connection with the high rainfall on the upstream side," he said.
