The 2023 Christmas Celebration In Jakarta Runs Smoothly And Peacefully

JAKARTA - The series of Christmas celebrations throughout the Jakarta area is running smoothly and full of joy. One of them is thanks to the reliable electricity supply. PLN does not provide light, but comfort and peace in the 2023 Christmas service.

General Manager of PLN Jakarta Distribution Main Unit, Lasiran said that all joint PLN personnel were fully alert to oversee supply reliability ranging from generating, transmission, to electricity distribution to the Jakarta area and its surroundings. According to him, PLN services have never been broken and are always optimally monitored by digital systems in 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

"We have deployed officers on standby, both in churches and electricity standby posts spread throughout the work area of PLN UID Jakarta Raya," Lasiran explained in a written statement, Tuesday, December 26.

On Sunday (24/12), the peak electricity load in Jakarta and its surroundings was recorded at 3,991 Mega Watt (MW) and occurred at night. Meanwhile, on Monday (25/12), it was recorded that the peak load occurred during the day of 3,894 MW. The peak load during Christmas celebrations was still lower than the peak load ever achieved in the Jakarta area and its surroundings, which was 5,800 MW. The total electricity supply supply supply in Jakarta and its surroundings was 9062.5 MW.

"Based on the data we have collected from year to year, the use of electricity at Christmas has indeed decreased compared to before Christmas because many are on holiday. However, we are still preparing sufficient supply so that people who celebrate Christmas in Jakarta feel comfortable worshiping," said Lasiran.

In this year's Christmas celebration, PLN also monitors electricity supply for 234 churches, shopping centers, tourism centers, crowded points, to homecoming access such as airports, stations, and bus terminals. As we all know, the Naru holiday coincides with school holidays, so many people take advantage of this moment to vacation with their families.
