Welcoming Christmas And New Year's Holidays, Bromo Area Increases Quota 748 Tourists Per Day
JAKARTA - The Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park Center (BB TNBTS) has increased the tourist visit quota to 3,500 people per day during the 2023 Christmas and 2024 New Year holidays.
Head of the Public Relations Evaluation Data Team of the TNBTS Center, Hendra in Malang City, East Java, Wednesday, said that the quota for visiting Mount Bromo tourists was added by 748 people per day, from the previous set quota of 2,752 people per day.
There is an additional quota of tourist visits to Mount Bromo, from the previous 2,752 people per day, to 3,500 people per day, said Hendra, confiscated by Antara.
Hendra explained that the additional quota for tourist visits to the Mount Bromo area was carried out during the year-end holiday period, or starting from December 24, 2023 to January 3, 2024, in line with the increase in community activities on vacation.
According to him, with the addition of a quota of 748 people per day, there is an adjustment in the number of each tourist spot. In the Bukit Cinta area it is opened to 161 people per day, Bukit Kedaluh 510 people per day, Penanjakan 1,046 people per day, Mentigen 262 people per day and Savana Teletubbies as many as 1,521 people per day.
"The additional quota is carried out during the Christmas and New Year holidays, starting from December 24, 2023 to January 3, 2024. Because there is an increase, so we accommodate the addition of quotas," he said.
He added, related to the volume density of motorized vehicles heading to the Mount Bromo area during the 2023 Christmas holiday, the TNBTS Center stated that the density was due to the public wanting to see the sunrise from Mount Bromo.
"Many visitors to Bromo with the main goal of seeing the sunrise. Everyone will be there, and look for the best spots so that, from the three entrances, namely Pasuruan, Malang and Probolinggo piled up," he said.
The TNBTS Center noted that during the 2023 Christmas holiday period, 12,788 tourists visited Mount Bromo.
In detail, the number of tourist visits on December 23 was 2,752 tourists, 3,488 tourists on December 24, 3,500 tourists on December 25 and 3,048 tourists on December 26, 2023.

The management of the national park urges tourists who will visit to pay attention to their respective health conditions, considering that during that period it is expected to enter the rainy season.
In addition, tourists who will visit the Bromo Tengger Semeru area to always comply with applicable regulations, such as doing online bookings before visiting.
While in the area, tourists are prohibited from carrying firearms or equipment used for hunting, including not making spurred flames or hearers in the area that can cause fires.
"To all visitors who are active in the area, please follow the applicable rules," he added.
The Mount Bromo area is one of the leading tourist destinations in East Java. In 2022, it was recorded that 318,919 tourists were visited, divided into 310,418 visitors were Nusantara tourists and 8,501 were foreign tourists.
Of the total number of tourist visits to Bromo throughout 2022, there was Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) reaching Rp11.65 billion, which increased when compared to the previous year which was Rp4.85 billion.
