Campaign In Pontianak, Anies Promises To Eradicate The Food Mafia

Presidential candidate number 1 Anies Baswedan announced his promise to eradicate the food mafia. He said this while campaigning at Flamboyan Market, Pontianak, West Kalimantan.

In front of residents and traders of Pasar Flamboyan, Anies said the price of basic necessities, especially rice, is currently expensive. Meanwhile, farmers sell grain at a low price. According to him, this condition occurred due to the game of the food mafia.

"Farmers who sell unhulled rice are cheap. Meanwhile, we who buy rice are expensive. Where should the money go? If the price of rice is expensive, should the farmers receive it, right? Well, this is in the middle of this, there is tengkulak, there is mafia, we will clean everything up," said Anies, Tuesday, December 26.

After the campaign at Flamboyan Market, Anies said, the increase in prices due to the tengkulak game made the turnover of the traders very low.

Therefore, the eradication of the food mafia is included in the trading system reform program that Anies will do if he and vice president Muhaimin Iskandar win the 2024 presidential election.

In addition to eradicating the food mafia, Anies also stated a number of assistance so that the welfare of market traders would be felt more quickly. One of the assistance is the business capital credit program for traders.

"So, this program is support for market traders. We will hope that they form cooperatives and then provide capital assistance," explained Anies.

Not only that, Anies also promised to distribute fertilizer price subsidies for farmers so that food prices are ensured to be maintained.
