JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) guarantees the availability of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) stocks during the Christmas 2023 and New Year 2024 periods.
Director General of Oil and Gas Tutuka Ariadji said, in the face of the possibility of soaring LPG needs, both 3 kg LPG and non-subsidized LPG such as LPG 5.5 kg and 12 kg during Christmas 2023 and New Year 2024, the Directorate General of Oil and Gas together with PT Pertamina (Persero) alerted 23 LPG Terminals, 667 Elpiji Fuel Filling and Transport Stations (SPPBE), and 4,972 LPG Agents throughout Indonesia.
"The 24-hour LPG alert agency and base are specially prepared in areas with high demand and LPG availability is guarded by adding LPG supplies to Agents and Bases," said Tutuka, quoted on Saturday, December 23.
Tutuka said that all SP(P)BEs had taken into account LPG delivery trips from Elpiji Terminal to SP(P)BE, to anticipate an increase in the number of vehicle flow or weather conditions.
"The Directorate General of Oil and Gas together with PT Pertamina (Persero) and PT Pertamina Patra Niaga carry out field supervision in order to monitor the availability of LPG, either directly or through the Nataru Command Post," he added.
Tutuka detailed that the current national LPG stock condition is 461,670 MT with an average daily distribution of 23,571 MT so that coverage days are around 20 days. Thus, the status of LPG in the Christmas 2023 and New Year 2024 periods is ensured safe.
