The Chery Omoda E5 will not only be present in Indonesia in early 2024, but will also launch in Malaysia in the first quarter, as a fully imported model (CBU) from China.
Unlike Indonesia, which still keeps its specifications secret because it is a local production, for the Malaysian market, the specifications for the Omoda E5 have been disclosed and documented on the official Chery Malaysia website, as reported by the Paultan page, Friday, December 22.
The Chery Omoda E5 for the Malaysian market comes with a 61 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, capable of traveling a distance of up to 430 km according to the WLTP standard. The battery drives the electric motor installed at the front, generating a power of 201 cellphones and a torque of 340 Nm, allowing for acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h within 7.6 seconds.
On the charging side, Omoda E5 supports AC input to a maximum of 9.9 kW and DC input to 80 kW. According to available information, the battery charging process from 30-80 percent can be done in just 30 minutes using the appropriate DC fast charger.
Although details have not been fully disclosed, it is hoped that this electric car will be equipped with an LED, 18-inch rim, black seat, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system supported by the Qualcomm 8155 system.
