Not Only Carrying Electric Cars And Their Ecosystems, BYD Wants To Introduce Technology In Indonesia
JAKARTA - The leading electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer from China, BYD (Build Your Dreams) not only plays in the mobility segment but plans to build an EV and technology ecosystem in Indonesia.
General manager of BYD Asia-Pacific Auto Sales Division, Liu Xueliang in a special interview with Indonesian journalists stated that BYD is not only a car factory, but a technology company with a comprehensive ecosystem.
"ByD is not an ordinary automotive company, but a technology company. So what we do is use a sustainable ecosystem for a new market and of course NEV (new energy vehicle) is the solution," said Liu Xueliang, as reported by ANTARA, Friday, December 22.
Liu said, automotive is the starting gate for BYD to introduce their technology as a whole to the Indonesian people. In addition to passenger cars, BYD is a manufacturer of electronic devices, batteries, transit rails, commercial vehicles to forklifts.
"For the Indonesian market, we will consistently bring competitive technology and products to the market, from the automotive industry as a start," he said.
BYD also wants to collaborate with third-party companies to jointly build a mutually beneficial EV ecosystem.
"In Indonesia, there are third parties or companies that have a lot of action to jointly develop EV infrastructure," he said.
"From BYD, we also open up opportunities for communication and cooperation with local partners regarding the development of EV charging infrastructure. Hopefully, in the future there will be more charging infrastructure available in Indonesia," said Liu.

"Indonesia is a strategic market for the global automotive market. For marketing, just like other countries, our branding position is in medium to high," he said.
However, it is also possible that BYD will bring other types of products for the Indonesian market.
"But by looking at demand in Indonesia, we believe we can bring more products and technology. Products and technology are also the ones that encourage demand in the country," said Liu.
