Spread 500 Food Packages, AGIT Contributes To Increase Community Economy In Gorontalo
JAKARTA - PT Anggrek Gorontalo International Terminal (AGIT) as the manager of the Orchid Port with a government cooperation scheme and business entity (PPP) estimates that the presence of this Port which will be integrated with the Special Economic Zone (KEK) has an investment target of more than IDR 835 trillion.
Chairman and Shareholder of Gobel Group Rachmat Gobel conveyed that the presence of the Orchid Port which is located in a strategic location in the future will be integrated with the Special Economic Zone (KEK) with an investment value target of more than IDR 835 trillion.
"With the positive support we receive from the community, we are optimistic and continue to hope that in the next few years Gorontalo Province, which is currently the 5th poorest province, will become the 5th most famous province in Indonesia," said Rachmat in his official statement, Thursday, December 21.
Rachmat conveyed that in line with the company's 2051 vision, he hoped that Gorontalo could become a rapidly growing economic center, and the people of Gorontalo had a central role in regional economic development.
"Therefore, not only accelerating the strengthening of physical infrastructure, we see strengthening the solidarity of the community around the port is one of the keys to the success of the construction of the Orchid Port", he said.
Rachmat said PT AGIT as a subsidiary of Gobel Group helped the surrounding community with a distribution of 500 food packages for the community around the Gorontalo Orchid Port.
Through this distribution of food aid packages, as part of the company's commitment to share happiness and strengthen community solidarity in the community that lives in the area around the construction area of the Gorontalo Orchid port.
The aid package distribution ceremony was carried out on December 14, 2023, represented by Dadan Darmawan as General Manager of PT AGIT which was handed over directly to residents.
A total of 500 food packages distributed consist of various basic needs such as rice, cooking oil, sugar, teabags, and bottleARup. Through this initiative, the company hopes to ease the burden on the community regarding the availability of basic commodities and provide new hope for the upcoming new year.
One of the local community leaders and Deputy Chairperson of the North Gorontalo DPRD Roni Imran stated that the agenda for distributing these basic necessities was a momentum between PT AGIT and the local community to continue to strengthen togetherness.
PT AGIT has done an extraordinary thing, providing very meaningful assistance to the people of Gorontalo, especially farmers who are just starting the planting season and are still waiting for the harvest in the next four months," he explained.
Roni conveyed that the PT AGIT initiative had a positive impact on the welfare of the people around the orchid port and also appreciated what the company had done. And he hopes that PT AGIT will continue to grow to make even greater contributions.
"These initiatives in addition to playing an important role in improving the welfare of the community but also fostering the spirit of togetherness to continue to work together to help each other", explained Roni.
Meanwhile, this year's food distribution activities have been carried out 3 times in the area around the Anggrek Port construction area with the number of aid packages reaching more than 1600 aid packages.
The procurement of aid packages is the result of the contribution of four companies that are members of the PT AGIT consortium, namely PT Gotrans Logistics International, PT Anugerah Jelajah Indonesia Logistics, PT Titian Labuan Anugrah and PT Hutama Karya (Persero).
During the distribution of basic necessities, PT AGIT also conveyed plans for a long-line process for the work of the Orchid Port to people living around the port area.
Where, in the near future, February 2024, the construction process for phase 1 of the construction of the Orchid Port will begin.

Rachmat conveyed that he invited the people of Gorontalo to continue to work hand in hand in the success of the construction of the Orchid Port in North Gorontalo as the locomotive of economic development and the progress of the Gorontalo Province.
This is considering the location of the Orchid Port which is quite strategic, close to the main international trade route which is a crucial access to trade between Indonesia and countries in the East Asia region.
"We highlight that currently the condition of Gorontalo's economic growth is still below the national economic growth average," he said.
