Meeting With The Three Presidential Candidates, Talking About Air Encourages Air Quality To Be A Priority
JAKARTA - In an effort to support the discussion of air quality issues in Indonesia, Air Talks, platforms under the auspices of the National Children's Air Foundation that actively conduct public campaigns; research and collaboration; as well as policy advocacy, related to improving air quality in Indonesia, have actively communicated with the three presidential candidates (candidates) of the Republic of Indonesia for the period 2024-2029, namely Anies Baswedan, Prabowo Subianto and Ganjar Pranowo.
On the occasion of meeting with each presidential candidate, represented by the Air Spokes Co-Founder, Novita Natalia, this community emphasized the urgency of advocacy for air policy early on. According to him, air quality is a shared responsibility and whoever the elected presidential candidate is is expected to be able to consider concrete steps to maintain clean air for the welfare of the community.
"Talking about Air is aware of the importance of advocating for air policy as early as possible for prospective Indonesian leaders. We remind presidential candidates about the importance of prioritizing clean air because environmental issues greatly affect our current economy and health and also threaten survival in the future," said Novita in a written statement, Thursday, December 21.
It is known, Air Talk has held a meeting with presidential candidate number 3, Ganjar Pranowo, in an invitation for a discussion for Ganjar Pranowo's YouTube channel entitled 'GANJAR CUMA CAN RUN?' and it was broadcast on July 6, 2023. Then, Air Talk also held a meeting with presidential candidate number 1 Anies Baswedan through an invitation at the 'Desak Anies' event on August 15, 2023. Finally, Speaking of Air held a meeting with presidential candidate number 2, Prabowo Subianto through an invitation to a joint lunch on December 18, 2023.
"Meeting with the presidential candidates is an opportunity for us to bring the voices of people who care about clean air. We hope that this message will not only be heard, but also become the basis for concrete actions against the problem of air pollution in the future," said Novita.
Novita said that her party reminded each elected leader candidate to take seriously the handling of air quality in Indonesia, given its significant impact on the economy, health, and survival of future generations.
