Building Has Not Been Completed, Pariaman Regional Library Gets IDR 400 Million Facilities Injection From The City Government
SUMBAR - The City Government (Pemkot) of Pariaman has allocated a budget of around Rp. 400 million in the 2024 APBD for the purchase of local regional library facilities.
Pariaman's library is currently still being built. The target is that the building will be completed by the end of 2023 so that it can be operated in early 2024.
"We budget for furniture and complete the studio room because the library can also play educational films," said Head of the Pariaman City Library and Archives Service, Muhammad Syukri in Pariaman, West Sumatra (West Sumatra), Thursday, December 21, as reported by Antara.
He said the budget was needed because this year Pariaman had only received funds from the National Library for the construction of buildings and fences worth Rp. 10 billion and an additional Rp. 300 million for information and computer technology equipment.
Meanwhile, the procurement of furniture in the form of tables and shelves along with collection books is budgeted by the National Library in 2025.
He conveyed that so that the building can operate in 2024, his party budgeted for the purchase of furniture worth Rp. 200 million and added basic funds for the minds of local DPRD members of Rp. 200 million for studio equipment.
The furniture to be installed in the library, he continued, is designed to take advantage of all rooms and consider aspects of beauty so that all places can be utilized and make visitors comfortable.

In addition, he continued, audio equipment is needed because the library develops a literacy concept that has the right training and space to play educational videos.
Previously, the City Government (Pemkot) of Pariaman, West Sumatra targeted to operate a regional library in February 2024 so that buildings with a budget of around Rp. 8 billion from the National Library (Perpusnas) could immediately be utilized properly.
"This year the library is complete, and we immediately operate it in February 2024. The National Library also asks that this library be operated immediately after it is completed," said Head of the Pariaman City Library and Archives Service, Muhammad Syukri in Pariaman.
He said that in 2023 Pariaman received the construction of a library from the National Library worth IDR 10.3 billion, of which around IDR 10 billion was used for buildings and fences while IDR 300 million was used for information technology and computers. The National Library will also help procure furniture and collections of books in 2025.
