Ombudsman Highlights Candidates, Asks ASDP To Fix Feri Ticket Sales System In Kupang
The Ombudsman representing East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) asked for improvements to the ticket sales system for ferries in Kupang facing the 2023 Christmas and 2024 New Year holidays.
Head of the NTT Ombudsman representing Darius Beda Daton encouraged PT ASDP Indonesia Feri Kupang Branch as the policy maker to fix this to prevent brokers.
"We ask ASDP to prohibit ticket brokers from entering the ticket counter area or immediately fix ticket services so that there is no practice room for ticket brokers, which of course harms passengers," he said in Kupang, NTT, Thursday, December 21, which was confiscated by Antara.
Darius, who inspected the boat ticket counter outside Bolok Harbor, Kupang Regency, on Wednesday, December 20, found a ticket broker collecting a prospective passenger identity card in front of ASDP officers who were providing card refill services for ticket purchases.
According to the information he received, prospective passengers were asked to pay Rp5,000 per ticket to brokers lining up and buy tickets for them.
Not a few prospective passengers use broker services because the queue for ticket purchases is very long.
"This will disrupt the queue, because he is prioritized and other passengers have to wait longer," he said.

Darius has conveyed the matter to the ASDP Kupang leader. He revealed that the non-electronic ticket purchase system implemented by ASDP Kupang allows brokers to offer services to passengers.
According to him, ASDP Kupang must improve the ticket sales system to prevent brokering practices that harm prospective passengers.
"ASDP Kupang leadership said it was in the process of heading for ticket electronics in March 2024," said Darius.
