YOGYAKARTA - Good news for people who want to travel via toll roads during the Christmas and New Year holidays. PT Jasa Marga (Persero) said it would provide a 10 percent discount on the Trans-Java toll rate when Nataru. The discount is in effect Thursday, December 21.

Lisye Octaviana, Jasa Marga's Corporate Communication and Community Development Group Head, said that a 10 percent discount was applied to the Trans Java Toll Road from Jakarta to Semarang and from Semarang to Jakarta during the 2023 Christmas and 2024 New Year holidays.

Lisye further explained that the 10 percent toll rate discount on the Trans-Java Toll Road is only intended for continuous travel. So what are the provisions for discounting toll rates during Nataru?

PT Jasa Marga applies a 10 percent toll rate discount as a form of improving services for motorists or drivers crossing toll roads. The implementation of this toll discount also aims to maximize traffic distribution.

"This is in accordance with the direction of the Minister of Transportation, implemented to avoid the accumulation of vehicles on a certain date, especially those that have been predicted to be the peak of the homecoming flow and the backflow for the Nataru holiday period, we also maintain an average speed from Jakarta to Semarang of around 70 kilometers per hour, or a distance of about 6 hours if without stopping," said Lisye during a release session at the Cikampek Utama Monitoring Post, Karawang on Wednesday (20/12).

The application of toll tariff discounts during the Nataru period applies to road users who travel back and forth.
