The Ministry Of PUPR Completes Handling Of 16 Bridges In West Java During 2021-2023

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) has completed the replacement and/or duplication of 16 Callender Hamilton Bridges (CH) with a total length of handling 3,758 meters (m) during 2021-2023 in West Java Province.

Spokesperson for the Ministry of PUPR Endra S Atmawidjaja said that the replacement of the CH bridge is part of the mitigation of the risk of bridges located in the national road network system and national logistics lines due to old age over 40 years. One of them is due to the impact of overloading.

"These bridges are old and it is time to replace them with new ones. With the replacement of the CH Bridge, it is hoped that the quality will be better than before, not vulnerable to collapse," Endra said in a written statement received by VOI, Wednesday, December 20.

Replacement of 16 CH bridges in West Java spread over 3 bridges in Purwakarta Regency, namely Cikao Bridge (50 m), Cisorang Bridge (35 m), and Ciasem Bridge (70 m).

Then, there are 3 bridges in Subang Regency, namely Cigadung Bridge (30 m), Cilamaya Bridge (60 m), and Cipangararitan Bridge (40 m).

Meanwhile, in Cirebon Regency, there are 4 bridges, namely the Sigranella Bridge (35 m), Karang Sembung Bridge (50 m), Kalijaga Bridge (45 m), and Kanci Bridge (60 m).

Furthermore, the 150-m long Batu Jajar Bridge in Cihampelas District, Bandung Regency.

The other bridges that have been completed are Sumedang Regency, namely Cikeruh Bridge (80 m), Cilutung Bridge (115 m), and Cimanuk Bridge (110 m). Furthermore, Citanduy Bridge (60 m) and Ciputra Haji Bridge (50 m) in Ciamis Regency.

Replacement/duplicating of 16 bridges in West Java is a Government Cooperation with Business Entity (PPP) project between the Directorate General of Highways of the Ministry of PUPR and PT Baja Titian Utama as the Implementing Business Entity and PT Penjaminan Infrastruktur Indonesia (Persero) as guarantor with an investment value of IDR 728.3 billion.

"All bridge replacements/dupplications have been completed this year and some have started to function earlier to support the mobility of people, services and logistics for the community," said Endra.

It is known, nationally, the CH bridge replacement/dupliccy project was carried out by the Directorate General of Highways of the Ministry of PUPR as many as 37 bridges spread across the national road network system and national logistics lines on the island of Java.

The construction is in the form of replacement/duplicating the Steel Box Girder bridge, Steel I Girder along with complementary buildings (including Structure Health Monitoring System/SHMS), as well as operations and maintenance during service periods.
