D'Cinnamons Commemorate Mother's Day With New Single, Ma..
JAKARTA - The music group D'Cinnamons released a new single titled Ma.. today, Wednesday, December 20. This song is a warning to the trio from Bandung for Mother's Day which falls the day after tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Ma.. is the second single released by trio Dodo (vocals, guitars), Bona (guitar) and Nana (bass) in 2023. Previously, they released a single titled Kunang-Kunang on April 10.
Ma.. became the closing offering of the year D'Cinnamons as an introspection and reflection of what had happened in the past. They invite listeners and their fans to see the figure of the mother who has accompanied us since childhood, teenagers, to grow up and be able to live independently.
Many people experience losing Mama. And for me, this song was made according to my life journey," said Dodo, who lost his mother in May 2022.
The lyrics and music from this new single began to be written shortly after the departure of Dodo's mother. Over time, composition continues to be developed while determining the right momentum to be heard to the public.
"You could say, the music is more minimal and intimate than our previous works," said Nana.
Meanwhile, the production process is carried out at home which is the main headquarters of D'Cinnamons in Bandung. The recording is done live to strengthen the appreciation, while at the same time maintaining the simplicity of the song.
Furthermore, Bona revealed two different points of view contained in this song. First, D'Cinnamons seems to be talking to listeners, inviting them to imagine how intimate the relationship between the child and his mother used to be. Second, D'Cinnamons seems to be talking to the mother at the end of the song.

"During the last workshop, we made the last verse in this song while in tears. Really couldn't stand it, suddenly the cheeks were wet. Because at that time we wanted to express the real inspiration of this song, namely the late Mama Dodo," said Nana.
"Regardless of the figure of the mother who is still there or has passed away, meeting with parents will always be meaningful and touching," concluded Bona.
