Firli Bahuri Policed Again, This Time Regarding DJKA Case Documents
JAKARTA - The head of the inactive Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Firli Bahuri, has been reported back to the Polda Metro Jaya. The report relates to the alleged misuse of documents handling the alleged bribery case at the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation.
"We have made a report to the Polda Metro Jaya on December 18," said the head of the Indonesian Budget and Anti-Corruption Transparency Agency (Lemtaki), Edy Susilo as the reporter, quoted on Wednesday, December 20.
Not only Firli Bahuri, the attorney for the inactive KPK chairman, Ian Iskandar, was also reported. This is because he attached the secret document and opened it in the pretrial trial.
The reason behind the report was because Firli Bahuri and his lawyers were deemed not authorized to use the document. Moreover, Firli is currently not an active KPK leader.
" Firli's capacity in pretrial is personal, not on behalf of the institution. So the use of institutional documents is not impossible to become an ethical and even criminal offender," said Edy.
Meanwhile, the report was registered with the number LP/B/7588/XII/2023/SPKT/POLDA METRO JAYA, dated December 18, 2023. In the report, Firli Bahuri allegedly violated Article 54 of Law Number 14 of 2008 concerning Public Information Disclosure.
On a different occasion, Firli Bahuri responded to reports directed at him.
According to him, all matters relating to the use of documents for handling cases of alleged bribery at the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation have been explained by his lawyer and experts who were presented during the pretrial hearing.
"I think I have explained by my lawyer and the expert who accompanied me in the pretrial," said Firli.
As a reminder, Firli Bahuri's camp in its replica had stated that his determination as a suspect in the alleged extortion case related to the handling of legal problems at the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) was not pure law enforcement.
This is because it is suspected that there is a background for the Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Karyoto to protect Muhammad Suryo in the corruption case of the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation handled by the KPK.
Muhammad Suryo is a Commissioner of PT Surya Karya Setiabudi (SKS). He is suspected of receiving a sleep fee of Rp9.5 billion from a promise of Rp11 billion.
This was revealed in the indictment of the former Head of the Class 1 Railway Engineering Center for the Central Java (Central Java) region, Putu Sumarjaya.
