Head Of Sidoarjo KPU Becomes Victim Of ATM Burglary, Tens Of Million Money Missing
SIDOARJO - The police are investigating the burglary case of an ATM belonging to the chairman of KPU Sidoarjo Regency, East Java, M Iskak.
Wakapolres Sidoarjo City AKBP Deny Agung Andriana said that his party is still completing the evidence of the ATM burglary case.
"We are investigating the case. We also just received information regarding the ATM burglary with the victim, the head of the Sidoarjo Regency KPU," he said as quoted by Antara, Thursday, February 18.
Separately confirmed, the head of the Sidoarjo Regency KPU, M Iskak, said that the ATM burglary case cost him Rp36.8 million.
"The incident earlier this week, when I was going to take money at an ATM near my house in the Entalsewu area," he said.
At that time M Iskak tried to insert the ATM card into the machine. But it is always rejected and the card can't enter, like something is stuck.
"Then I canceled to get the money. After that someone outside the ATM booth approached me and asked about the incident. I said the card could not enter, then the person assured that the card could be used," he said.
After that, Iskak re-inserted the ATM card and it turned out that he could. However, when the card is inserted it cannot be accessed due to the wrong pin number entered.
"Feeling that something was wrong then I took the initiative to go to the nearest bank office. From there, I realized I had been hit by an ATM burglary. This was known from the notification SMS because there was a money transfer transaction," he said.
