FIFA Officially Appoints Chile To Host The 2025 U-20 World Cup
JAKARTA - The World Football Federation (FIFA) officially appointed Chile to host the 2025 U-20 World Cup. Meanwhile, the 2026 U-20 Women's World Cup will be held in Poland which will be the host's turn.
The certainty that Chile will host was approved by FIFA in a meeting that took place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to coincide ahead of the 2023 Club World Cup semifinals.
Since 1962, Chile has held the FIFA event with the highest level, the most recent being the FIFA U-17 World Cup in 2015.
"The experience of this country's organization coupled with the enthusiasm of Chile fans will provide a fantastic environment for future stars," said FIFA President Gianni Infantino, quoted from the official FIFA website on Monday, December 18, 2023.

The 2023 U-20 World Cup has actually been held in Argentina from May 20 to June 11, 2023. Argentina will host Indonesia, which was previously officially appointed by FIFA.
However, FIFA revoked the host's status because Indonesia sent rejections against Israel U-20.

Italy's runner-up position, third position belongs to Israel, and fourth place is secured by Asian representatives, South Korea.
Unlike senior level World Cup events, the U-20 World Cup is held every two years or the same as the U-17 World Cup. At the upcoming 2025 U-20 World Cup, there will be 24 teams that will compete.
One ticket is confirmed to belong to the host. Meanwhile, UEFA got five tickets, then the AFC, CAF, Concacaf, and Conmebol each got four rations.
The other two rations belong to OFC. The allocation also applies to the 2026 U-20 Women's World Cup in Poland.
