Kemenpora Encourages Youth To Become The Front Guard For Disaster Response
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) of the Republic of Indonesia emphasized the importance of youth roles in social life.
No wonder, the Ministry of Youth and Sports wants to encourage youth to be more active and have a leadership spirit in the midst of problems or issues that develop in society.
Most recently, the Ministry of Youth and Sports in the 2023 Youth Leadership Summit has prepared youth as the front line for disaster response.
This was done inseparable from Indonesia's position which is prone to disasters. Indonesia is located between two continents, two oceans, and a meeting of three plates that have the potential for a very large disaster.
Assistant Deputy for Youth Leadership of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Mulyani Sri Suhartuti, in her presentation with the theme 'Gerak Bersama, Resilient Disaster' emphasized the importance of youth being the leading element in dealing with disasters.

"Youth is physically stronger than other elements of society. Youth will be a problem solver when the disaster occurs or occurs."
"The youths are also the spearhead when all elements must work hand in hand to deal with disasters. As humans hope they are in good condition, but disasters can come at any time."
"So, youth must be ready in any condition, to be a pioneer with a leadership spirit to deal with when a disaster occurs," said Mulyani.
The Youth Leadership Summit for the Year was attended by 117 youths from youth organizations at Wisma Kemenpora on Thursday, December 14, 2023.
As a speaker, there was also the Community Engagement Coordinator of Indorelawan, Shendy Ristandi, who brought the material 'Real Contribution of Young Leaders in the Field of Volunteers'.
Then, the representative of Humanitarian Affairs Analyst UN OCHA, Titi Moektijasih, who provides an understanding of 'Disaster and Handling in Indonesia.
Finally, representatives of the Directorate of Disaster Management and Fire Management of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Grace Miranda, with the material 'Policies and Fire Management'.
Previously, the Ministry of Youth and Sports also provided youths with their roles in households.
The training for Youth Leadership in the Household (PKPRT) with the theme 'Forming the 2045 Golden Generation as a Tough Youth through a Quality Family in a Changed World Environment' was held in Bali last week.
