Twitch Revokes New Rules For Sexual Content Around Vulgar Shows

JAKARTA Not long ago, Twitch updated their Sexual Content Policy, including rules regarding Content Classification Labels (CCL). However, these changes actually cause problems.

After this new policy was implemented, Twitch said that streamers were getting a bad reaction. Many regret Twitch's new policy because streamers are more flexible in creating sexual content.

There is a lot of new content allowed based on updated policies. Most of the content created has been responded to with community concerns. This is a concern we convey," Twitch wrote in an official release.

Twitch explains that their new policy is being used in a bad way. Some streamers show nudity images with Artificial Intelligence (AI) so that people who see it are difficult to distinguish between digital art and photography.

As a result of this problem, Twitch realized that they had acted too far by changing the Sexual Content Policy. Therefore, they decided to return to limiting the picture of nudity, both real and non-real.

"So, effective today, we canceled artistic nudity changes. In the future, real or fictional nudity depictions will not be allowed on Twitch, regardless of media," Twitch said. The streaming platform also apologized to the entire community on its platform.

Previously, Twitch decided to combine two separate policies in Community Guidelines, namely Sexually Management Content and Vulgar Sexual Content, into Sexual Content Policy.

In the new policy, content that deliberately emphasizes the breasts, buttocks or pelvic area is permitted as long as the streamers have a CCL sign. They can also show fiction that displays genitals or buttocks in its entirety.
