Humanitarian Concert For Gaza Hands Over IDR 470 Million Donation To The Palestinian Embassy

JAKARTA - The Humanitarian Concert Series for Gaza, which has been held since November 21, closed with screenings of films, discussions, auctions and donations collected to the Palestinian Embassy.

Taking place at the M Bloc Creative Hall, South Jakarta on Friday, December 15 evening, the organizers of the Humanitarian Concert for Gaza handed over the donations temporarily collected until Thursday, December 14 yesterday. Donations of Rp470,799,814 were handed over directly to Palestinian representatives in Indonesia.

Meanwhile, the total ticket sales from the seven concert series collected amounted to Rp348,800,000. This amount is equivalent to 3,488 spectators who attended the 16 performers from November 21 to December 13.

Meanwhile, donations also come from selling merchandise and other fundraising by placing a barcode in the M Bloc area.

"I want to thank the donors, this means a lot to me and the Palestinians. Thank you to our Indonesian friends who have organized this fundraising well," said Muammar Milhem, Secretary of the Palestinian Embassy Diplomat for Indonesia after receiving donations.

At the end of the event, the Humanitarian Concert for Gaza auctioned seven T-shirts signed by the performers. The auction price for each T-shirt is open starting at a price of IDR 500,000. Later, the collected money will be added to the donations mentioned above.

Wendy Putranto as Chair of the M Bloc Foundation said the collected donations are still ongoing today. The amount of money in the account is still increasing, and will later be given to the Palestinian Embassy.

Wendy, who initially doubted this event, also thanked all participating parties, especially the 16 performers who were willing to play without being paid.

Awal muncul ide ini, saya sebenarnya sempat ragu karena permasalahan di Gaza sering dikaitkan dengan isu-isu agama. Saya pikir sebelumnya tidak banyak yang mau tampil, ujar Wendy.

And it turns out that the response of fellow musicians is not what I thought at the beginning. They are enthusiastic to participate. This concert shows our solidarity for the humanity in Gaza," he continued.
