Hundreds of Houses in Sukabumi Damaged by the M4.6 Earthquake
SUKABUMI - The Sukabumi Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) recorded a M4.6 earthquake that occurred on Thursday (14/12) at around 06.35 WIB, resulting in hundreds of houses in Sukabumi Regency, West Java, being damaged.
"Until now, we are still collecting data on houses affected by the earthquake," said Sukabumi Regency BPBD Public Relations Officer Sandra Fitria as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, December 14
Information gathered by the disaster management team shows that four sub-districts in Sukabumi Regency were affected by the earthquake, centered in Bogor City, namely Kabandungan, Kalapanunggal, Cikembar and Kadudampit sub-districts.
Of the four sub-districts, the worst affected by the earthquake was Kabandungan, where hundreds of residents' houses were damaged spread across several villages such as Cihamerang Village, 41 houses were damaged (39 units were lightly damaged and 2 units were moderately damaged) with a total of 41 families or 139 survivors.
Then in Cipeuteuy Village a total of 137 houses were damaged, with details of 38 lightly damaged, 26 moderately damaged and three heavily damaged. The number of survivors is still being collected. Not only that, in this village two public facilities were damaged and the road was cracked at two points.
In Tugubandung Village, 18 houses were slightly damaged and one house was moderately damaged with 21 families or 79 people surviving. In Kabandungan Village there were 37 houses slightly damaged with 37 families or 130 people surviving. In Mekarjaya Village, 18 houses were slightly damaged and one was moderately damaged. The number of survivors is 20 families or 70 people.
Furthermore, the impact of the earthquake in Kalapanunggal District, precisely in Walangsari Village, was that one house unit was moderately damaged.
In Sukamanis Village, Kadudampit District, one house was slightly damaged. In Parakanlima Village, Cikembar District, one house was moderately damaged. There were no casualties in the earthquake that occurred Thursday morning.

Meanwhile PMI Sukabumi Regency Public Relations Staff Ariel Solehudin said that his party had responded to the incident.
Sukabumi Regency PMI personnel have joined other joint officers to monitor posts, assess and assist with the evacuation process.
Apart from that, personnel and a double cabin rescue vehicle were alerted to facilitate mobilization at the scene. Apart from that, the assigned personnel are also equipped with first aid equipment.
PMI will continue to monitor and provide the latest information regarding handling this earthquake, he said.
