DKI Bawaslu Says South Jakarta KPU Violates Election Administrative Budget Related To 2 Names In DPT

JAKARTA - The Audit Council of the DKI Jakarta Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) stated that the General Election Commission (KPU) of South Jakarta (Jaksel) was proven to have committed administrative violations of the 2024 General Election.

Chairman of the DKI Jakarta Bawaslu Examining Council Benny Sabdo said the violation was related to the mechanism or procedure for updating the Permanent Voter List (DPT) on behalf of Tan Eng Ho (TEH) and Tan Eng Shiong (TES).

"Decided, stating that the reported party (KPU Jakarta Selatan) was legally and convincingly proven to have committed an administrative violation of the election," he said in a trial monitored online in Jakarta, Thursday, December 14, which was confiscated by Antara.

The decision was taken after the panel considered several things, including that during the trial process, the South Jakarta KPU never explained about the matching and research process (coklit) on behalf of TEH and TES which was questioned by the Movement of All Indonesian Advocates (Persadi) DKI Jakarta as reporters.

"Considering that based on Article 19 of the PKPU for the Preparation of the Voter List, the Examining Council considers that the actions of the reported violate the procedures, procedures, and mechanisms of the bankruptcy process in the name of TEH and TEST," said Member of the Examining Council. Reki Putera Jaya.

The panel also considered that the argument of the South Jakarta KPU was deemed to have no legal reason to deny the arguments of Persadi DKI Jakarta which questioned the DPT status which was connected to the implementation of the bankruptcy process.

Therefore, based on this decision, the Examining Council ordered the South Jakarta KPU to make administrative improvements to procedures, procedures, or mechanisms related to updating voter data on behalf of TEH and TES in accordance with statutory regulations.

Previously, on Thursday, November 23, Persadi DKI Jakarta reported the South Jakarta KPU after finding two names, namely TEH and TESTs suspected of being fictitious registered with the DPT in South Gandaria Village.

The spokesman for the reporter, Iskandar Halim, said the two names were not recorded in a letter issued by Cilandak District dated November 10, 2023 and a letter issued by the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of DKI Jakarta dated November 3, 2023.
