AMIN National Team Claims 'Hotline Paris' Will Touch 2.5 Million Poor People Face Legal Problems

JAKARTA - The AMIN National Team Expert Council admits that the candidate pair pair number 1 'hotline' program, Anies-Muhaimin, is targeted to provide legal assistance to 2.5 million poor people who are experiencing legal problems.

"We want to increase legal assistance to the poor, previously only 6,400 people, will be increased to 2.5 million poor people," said AMIN National Team Expert Council Member Bambang Widjojanto, in Jakarta, Thursday, December 14, as quoted by Antara.

He said that the "hotline paris" program was not the number 1 candidate pair game, but it had all gone through an in-depth study by legal experts who were members of the AMIN National Team Expert Council.

BW, as he is familiarly called, said that when he saw that legal problems in Indonesia were still not able to target the poor, where they often stumbled upon legal problems and no one defended them.

For this reason, said BW, the "hotline paris" program is expected to provide legal assistance to people who cannot afford it, and this must be improved, because currently only 6,400 people are available in a year.

"It's not a gimmick but research results. There are currently 25.9 million poor people in Indonesia, of which only 6,400 are covered or below one percent," he said.

BW added that the budget for legal assistance for the poor in a year is only Rp56 billion, so that when the AMIN pair wins, it will be increased to Rp1.2 trillion.

"This is all to help underprivileged residents who are caught in legal problems," he asserted.

In the inaugural debate, presidential candidate Anies Baswedan stated that he would help the poor who are affected by legal problems through this "hotline paris" efforts by the state's presence in upholding justice in legal problems.

The KPU has appointed three pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates as participants in the 2024 presidential election, namely Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar with serial number 1, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka number 2, and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD number 3.

The KPU has also set a campaign period from November 28, 2023 to February 10, 2024, then the voting schedule will be on February 14, 2024.
