Collaborating With Ombudman, DGT Increases Services And Information Exchange
The Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) of the Ministry of Finance and the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia have agreed to establish a cooperation agreement to strengthen public services within the DGT.
"The signing of this cooperation agreement is driven by the same spirit from the Indonesian DGT and Ombudsman to improve the quality of public services, including to improve regulations, procedures, and efforts to prevent maladministration," said Director General of Taxes at the Ministry of Finance Suryo Utomo in his official statement, Thursday, December 14.
The scope of the cooperation agreement includes accelerating the completion of public reports/complaints, prevention of maladministration, increasing the capacity of human resources, and requests or providing data and/or information related to the implementation of tasks and functions of both parties.
In the agreement, it was stated that every report/complaint from the public regarding public services in the field of taxation was followed up by prioritizing a quick, precise, and complete settlement.
Meanwhile, to optimize maladministration prevention, the two parties will prepare a joint policy study regarding the prevention of maladministration and fulfillment of service standards within the DGT.
The two parties also agreed to carry out human resource improvements in the field of supervision of the implementation of public services and the field of taxation through socialization, workshops, seminars, group discussions that are organized, planned, and sustainable.
In addition, in the context of completing reports/complaints as well as preventing maladministration, both parties can exchange data and/or information.
The data exchange is carried out while still obliged to maintain confidentiality, integrity, completeness, validity of data/information in accordance with statutory provisions, and cannot be transferred to other parties.
The cooperation agreement is valid for five years and can be extended or terminated or amended based on the agreement between the two parties.
"Through the momentum of this cooperation agreement, it is hoped that it can encourage steps to accelerate the settlement of complaints against services provided by the DGT and prevent maladministration," explained Suryo.

Separately, the Director of Counseling, Services and Public Relations of the Ministry of Finance Dwi Astuti said this cooperation agreement was a step by the DGT to continue to strengthen synergies with external DGT stakeholders.
"We continue to collaborate with various parties to improve institutions in line with tax reform being carried out by the DGT," said Dwi.
