Missing Bob Marley's Song, Selasssie Is The Chapel Released

JAKARTA - Bob Marley's new never released single, titled Selasssie is the Chapel, is now more than 40 years after the death of the reggae star.

First recorded in 1968 but never officially published, the song is now released by Marley's original label, JAD Records, and is available for streaming on all platforms. A limited edition of 2000 copies of 7streams is also available.

The song, which is very spiritual and personal, paid tribute to Haile Selasssie, the emperor of Ethiopia, and the holy figure in the Rastafari movement, where Marley is one of its members.

The lyrics of the song were written by one of Marley's mentors, Mortimer Planno, who met Selasssie while visiting Jamaica in 1966.

This single is the first release on JAD Records in seven years. This label was founded by Johnny Nash in 1967, after Nash met Marley in Jamaica.

Marley has continued to record exclusive music for the label for years.

Marley died in 1981 at the age of 36, after becoming the global pioneer of reggae, Ska, and rocksteady music. He is estimated to have sold more than 75 million records worldwide.
