Pertamina EP Finds 2 New Oil And Gas Sources
JAKARTA - Entering the 66th age of PT Pertamina (Persero), a series of positive contributions have been achieved. Especially in the upstream sector, PT Pertamina EP (PEP) Regional Java Subholding Upstream Pertamina has succeeded in proving additional hydrocarbon resources from drilling two exploration wells in West Java Province.
The two wells are East Akasia Cinta (EAC)-001 in the work area of PEP Jatibarang Field, Indramayu Regency and East Pondok Aren Well (EPN)-001 in the working area of PEP Tambun Fild, Bekasi Regency. Through the Production Alir Test (Dril Stem Test/DST) EAC-001 wells obtained 30 BOPD of oil flow, gas reached 2.08 MMSCFD and condensate equivalent to 15.05 BCPD.
The EAC-001 well was taxed on September 4, 2023 with the main objective at the Batupasir Conglomerate Formation Jatibarang and Cibulakan Upper Formation Gamping Reservoir which is a proven play or concept that produces hydrocarbons in Jatibarang Field and Akasia Prima, Sub-Cekungan Jatibarang. This drilling reached its final depth in 2520 mMD.
Rig stated that the release from EAC-001 Well on November 28, 2023, with a total realization of operating days of 85 days and operational success was also reflected in the high application of HSSE Culture with 155,016 safe working hours. Similar to Bekasi Regency, at the Tambun Field PEP, the exploration well drilling of East Pondok Aren (EPN)-001 which was drilled on August 18, 2023, targeting the target of Carbonate reservoir Lower Cibulaks Formation succeeded in flowing oil and gas on the second DST with an oil rate of 402 BOPD and a gas rate of 1.09 MMSCFD at a depth of 2,590 mMD. This oil and gas findings are a manifestation of the implementation of a massive and aggressive Company exploration strategy. The drilling of the EPN-001 well is also a proof of play or a new concept in the form of a stratographic trap in Lower Cibulakan Formation, Ciputat Basin.
"This thickening is one of the pioneers in proving different exploration concepts to find and open the potential for new oil and gas accumulation in the onshore area of North West Java," said Pertamina EP VP Exploration, Indra Yuliandri, in a statement, Wednesday, December 13.

Pertamina EP President Director, Wisnu Hindadari said that Pertamina EP consistently encourages exploration drilling in its working area to ensure that the Reserve to Production Ratio in the Java Region is well maintained in the years to come.
"EAC-001 and EPN-001 are exploration wells that can strengthen optimism in the search for new resources in areas classified as mature to be able to immediately contribute in maintaining the carrying capacity of oil and gas production in the future," added Wisnu.
The findings of these reserves are also an important part of the government's program in the national energy sector to achieve the target of gas production of 12 billion cubic feet per day (BSCFD) and oil production of 1 million barrels per day by 2030. During the period January to the end of November 2023, Pertamina EP contributed to national oil production of 69,624 BOPD, and natural gas of 838.6 MMSCFD.
