Toyota Hilux Rangga Confirmed To Launch Early Next Year For The Indonesian Market

JAKARTA - After holding some time ago at various exhibitions, Toyota Astra Motor (TAM) finally revealed the launch of Toyota Rangga for the Indonesian market.

This was expressed directly by the Marketing Director of PT Toyota Astra Motor (TAM) Anton Jimmi Suwandy during the year-end media gathering of Toyota in the Jakarta area.

"Toyota Rangga will be launched at the beginning of next year or 2024, the exact date is still being sought but everything has been prepared," he said, Tuesday, December 12.

Furthermore, he said that later Rangga would be included in the Hilux family, meaning that the full name of the Toyota Hilux Rangga, which was previously present in Thailand.

"Actually, the full name is Toyota Hilux Rangga, so he joined the Hilux family," he added.

The man with glasses said this one car could not be ordered, but in terms of prospect it was seen from the enthusiasm in several cities and Toyota branches.

"We have traveled to several cities and branches, many loyal customers are waiting, because our pickup is multi-purpose has its own strength such as after sales," he explained.

As is known for the Thai market with the name Hilux Champ, it has a length of 5,300 mm, a width of 1,785 mm and a height of 1,735 mm. Meanwhile, the wheelbase for the short type is 2,750 mm, while the length is 3,085 mm. While the ground clearance has a choice of 164 and 180 mm.

The manufacturer provides three types of machines for the Hilux Camp, namely 2,000 cc and 2,700 cc gasoline, and 2,400 cc diesel. The 2,000 cc gasoline engine, namely 1TR-FE, has 139 hp and 183 Nm torque with a manual transmission option of 5 acceleration.

While the 2,700 cc, 2TR-FE gasoline engine, 166 hp and 245 Nm torque one transmission, which is automatic 6 acceleration. Meanwhile, the 2GD-FTV 2,400 cc diesel engine is available with a choice of transmission of 5 accelerations and an automatic 6 accelerations. This machine is capable of producing 150 hp and 343 Nm torques.
