Prabowo: Papua's Problems Complicated The Foreign Intervention Separatism Movement

JAKARTA - Presidential Candidate number 2 Prabowo Subianto assesses that the problems in Papua are complicated because of foreign interference, especially related to the separatism movement.

Prabowo said this in response to the topic of debate about Human Rights related to the increasing trend of violence in Papua.

"The Papua problem is complicated because there is a sparatism movement and the sparatism movement that we have been following for a long time. We see foreign interference," Prabowo said in response to a panelist question in the presidential candidate debate, Tuesday, December 12.

In addition, the Minister of Defense saw certain forces that always wanted Indonesia to be integrated and broken. For that, Prabowo said, human rights issues are something that must be prioritized.

"We also have to protect all Papuan people because there terrorist groups are now attacking the Papuans themselves, innocent people, women parents of young children who are not armed in terror by this separatist terrorist group," he said.
