Chelsea Targets A Number Of Strikers To Strengthen Serang Line
JAKARTA - Chelsea is reported to be a number of top strikers. According to The Daily Mail, the Blues included the names of Ivan Toney (Brentford) and Victor Osimhen (Napoli) in the list of potential targets for the January 2024 transfer market.
Not only that, The Guardian added one more name on Chelsea's wanted list, namely Viktor Gyokeres, the Sporting CP striker.
However, Biru needed to spend more to bring in one of the strikers. Apart from fresh funds, Chelsea must compete with other clubs.
Toney, for example, is also Arsenal's target. According to ESPN, Brentford is likely to open an offer at 80 million pounds or around IDR 1.5 trillion.
However, Toney is currently undergoing a ban on playing football. He can't play until January 16, 2024.
Meanwhile, Osimhen is much more expensive than Toney. The market price of the Napoli striker is estimated at around 120 million pounds or IDR 2.3 trillion.
Osimhen is actually easier to bring in as long as it reaches a price agreement with Napoli. You see, the Nigerian striker is at odds with Partenopei over social media posts.
It remains now how Chelsea seek fast funds at once according to financial fair play signs.
You see, Blue has spent more than 1 billion pounds or around Rp. 19.6 trillion in the last three transfer windows.

The spearhead is indeed the current position of Chelsea's problem. Of the 26 goals in the 2023/2024 Premier League, 12 of them were scored by strikers.
Raheem Sterling scored five goals and Nicolas Jackson scored six goals. The remaining one goal was scored by Armando Broja.
Meanwhile, Christopher Nkunku who was brought in in July 2023 could not be relied on by Mauricio Pochettino to fill the front lines. The French player has not come down since moving to Stamford Bridge due to a knee injury.
