KPK Still Invites Firli To Hakordia Even Though He Was Temporarily Dismissed After Becoming A Suspect, But Not Present
JAKARTA - Head of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Ali Fikri, ensured that all anti-corruption commission personnel were invited to commemorate World Anti-Corruption Day (Hakordia) today. Electronic letters containing invitations have also been sent from far away.
This was conveyed by Ali when asked about whether there was an invitation for the inactive KPK chairman Firli Bahuri.
All KPK personnel, employees, leaders, structurals, supervisory boards have come here. But so far, until this afternoon we have not seen a inactive Mr. Chairman, Mr. FB, present," Ali told reporters at Istora Senayan, Jakarta.
Ali explained that Firli was confirmed to have received Hakordia's invitation email because he could still access electronic mail. Because, he is still a member of the KPK even though he is a suspect.
"If via email it's all KPK personnel. Not invited by each person. So this email is an office email, which has been sent to all KPK personnel. It must have received an email," he said.
However, he admitted that he did not know the reason why Firli was not present. However, Ali suspects that Firli's absence was because President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) had been deactivated because he was suspected of extorting or receiving gratuities from former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo.
"I don't know (what the reason is, ed). Because we really invited all KPK personnel. (Obviously, ed) everyone was invited to take part in this event," he said.
