Danareksa Reveals Foreign Investment Reaches IDR 3 Trillion For Phase II Of KIT Batang

PT Danareksa (Persero) revealed that there has been a flow of funds in investment from foreign investment through PT Batang Integrated Industrial Zone (KIT Batang) Central Java amounting to IDR 2.5 trillion to IDR 3 trillion.

Danareksa Investment Director, Chris Soemijantoro said that in phase II, KIT Batang had received an investment of IDR 3 trillion for an industrial land use agreement of almost 350 hectares.

"In total, it may be Rp. 2.5 trillion to Rp. 3 trillion for stage 2 which is already in line. That's a total of 5 companies, but actually there are a lot of them in pipelines," he explained to the media, Monday, December 11.

Chris said that of the five tenants, they will use industrial land in the KIT Batang phase II area which has a total area of 650 hectares.

Meanwhile, these investors came from China, namely from the Wanxinda Group investment of IDR 1 trillion, which just started ground breaking in early December 2023 with an area of 98 hectares. Later, Wanxinda will become an industrial area in the form of providing ready-to-use factories for a number of Chinese companies that want to expand and open factories in Indonesia.

Chris emphasized that the use and management carried out by Wanxinda would continue to comply with the regulations set by KIT Batang.

Apart from Wanxinda, there is also a company from China, namely PT Xiang Jiang Group Indonesia with an investment value of around 40-50 million US dollars.

Chris said that many companies have tried to enter and build factories in KIT Batang. However, he emphasized that his party is not only pursuing quantity but quality so that in the future it will not be a competitor to existing industries in Indonesia.

"We are selecting who comes in and must bring in derivatives. The value chain has to be there to make sure, to ensure that Indonesia gets the best, don't be aister of the industry that is here," he said.

In addition, Chris said that in the second phase of KIT Batang, it focused on technology.

Similarly, the President Director of Danareksa Yadi Jaya Ruchandi said that his party would remain selective in choosing tenants that entered KIT Batang and not only focused on tenants but also on the values brought.

"We are selective to ensure that the incoming and incoming tenants carry high values, so they are not only the ones who take advantage of the bar position but how we also get a big value from them," he explained.

In addition, Yadi explained that sales or investments in KIT Batang were not affected at all by the current political conditions, because investors saw this for the long term, not just one or two years.

"It is not influenced by politics, because investors see it not only in the political year, but for the next 80 years. So, seeing it in the future is not short-term," he concluded.

As for the KIT Batang phase I industrial area, there are 14 tenants from national and global companies engaged in multi-sectors that also invest in the region with a total investment value of IDR 6.8 trillion.
