Strategy For Debate, TKN Prabowo-Gibran Aims For 28 Percent Of Undecided Voters

JAKARTA - The Director of the Prabowo-Gibran National Campaign Team (TKN), Budiman Sujatmiko, is targeting 28 percent of the undecided voters or groups who have not made a choice to choose the presidential and vice presidential candidate pair number 2.

This target is the basis for setting the debate strategy for candidates to be held by the KPU tomorrow.

As many as 28 percent of the prospective voters were known from the results of the Kompas Research and Development survey released today. In fact, this figure exceeds the electability of the other two candidate pairs.

"What does that mean, there has been a drastic decline from couples 1 and 3, but not to Prabowo or not to Pak Prabowo. This means that in the process of how many weeks this week, there has been a decrease in the impromptu affiliation to Mr. Anies and Mr. Ganjar. I don't know what happened, just go down, basically them," said Budiman at the TKN Media Center, South Jakarta, Monday, December 11.

Budiman assessed that the 28 percent undecided voters phenomenon above the electability of candidates was an overflow of votes that could escape Anies and Ganjar's supporters but had not yet chosen Prabowo. According to him, the figure shows that they are critical voters.

"Not voters confused without ideas but in fact there are many ideas, many questions. What is certain is that they did not get it from Pak Anies and Pak Ganjar, so they left. And what is certain is that they have not received it from Pak Prabowo," he explained.

Therefore, Budiman wants to convince 28 percent of the undecided voters to make their choice to Prabowo after tomorrow's candidate debate.

"Therefore, this debate is very strategic for us, because we assume 28 percent is a critical vote that does not get satisfactory things from Pak Anies and Pak Ganjar, but they are still waiting for what is new, what is cool and what is relevant from Pak Prabowo, and that will be answered from this debate," he concluded.

It is known, the results of the Kompas Research and Development poll on November 29-4 December 2023 showed that 28.7 percent of respondents had not made an undecided voters in the 2024 Presidential Election.

According to this survey, the pair number 2, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming, has the highest electability of 39.3 percent.

Prabowo-Gibran took the lead quite far compared to Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar at 16.7 percent and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD at 15.3 percent.

The survey involved 1,364 randomly selected respondents using a multilevel systematic stabbing method in 38 provinces in Indonesia.

The method has a 95 percent confidence level and a margin of error of approximately 2.65 percent in the condition of simple random sampling.
