TKN Prabowo Gibran Opens The Door For Former Army Chief Of Staff Dudung To Join The Campaign Team

JAKARTA - Secretary of the National Campaign Team (TKN) Prabowo Gibran, Nusron Wahid, stated that his party "opened the door" to the former Army Chief of Staff (KSAD), TNI General (Ret.) Dudung Abdurachman, to join the campaign team.

This statement came in Nusron's response to Dudung's presence at the Tabligh Akbar of the Al Baghdadi Islamic Boarding School in Karawang on Saturday, December 9 evening, which was also attended by vice presidential candidate number 2, Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

"Matur Nuwun, Thank you Pak Dudung for your presence. We TKN opened the door for you," said Nusron in a statement received in Jakarta, Sunday, December 10.

Nusron highlighted Dudung's popular military achievements in Indonesia, from his role as Pangdam Jaya to becoming Army Chief of Staff (KSAD). According to him, Dudung is a figure who dares to uphold state sovereignty.

"Since Pangdam Jaya until becoming the Army Chief of Staff, we have seen his extraordinary track record. I think if he is willing to join, it will be an additional force for us to go to Advanced Indonesia," said Nusron.

Previously, Dudung together with the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Pilar 08 Bahlil Lahadalia who was also present to accompany the presence of President Joko Widodo's eldest son, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, at the event.

The General Election Commission (KPU) of the Republic of Indonesia on Monday, November 13, 2023, determined three pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates as participants in the 2024 Presidential and Vice Presidential Elections (Pilpres).

The draw results on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, place Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka with serial number 2. The KPU stipulates a campaign period from November 28, 2023 to February 10, 2024, with a vote on February 14, 2024.
