IKN Nusantara Will Get Green Electricity Supply From Kayan Hydropower Plant
PT Kayan Hydro Energy (KHE) has set the target of the first dam for the Kayan Hydroelectric Power Plant (PLTA), North Kalimantan, to be completed in 2027.
Later, the electricity generated will be channeled to the capital city of Nusantara (IKN) in East Kalimantan.
KHE Khaeroni's Director of Operations explained that the first dam of PLTA Kayan will produce electricity with a capacity of up to 900 Megawatts (MG).
The green electricity will also be distributed to industrial areas in Bulungan, North Kalimantan.
Indonesia's green industrial area (KIHI) in Kaltara, which is also managed by PT Kalimantan Industrial Park Indonesia (KIPI) and PT Indonesia Strategic Industry (ISI).
"The total capacity is 900 megawatts for dam 1. If the users enter industrial areas, we also support the nation's capital in IKN," he said in Tanjung Selor, Bulungan Regency, North Kalimantan, Sunday, December 10.
Roni, Khaeroni's nickname, explained that the supply of green electricity from PLTA Kayan to IKN will later use the electricity transmission network owned by PT PLN (Persero). However, Roni admitted that he could not convey in more detail the transmission.
"PLN already has transmission, Kalimantan is also connected, including EBT infrastructure or energy green at IKN," he said.

Regarding the supply of electricity to IKN, Roni said, KHE is in a position waiting for a request from the government.
Later the supply provided depends on what the government asks for.
"Because there is a big government project, we also have to support it, because in IKN the President said there must be green energy. There is no carbon fuel there," he said.
The green ones are PLTS, PLTA, wind. But what is quite stable is water. So it's right that KHE supports IKN for its green," he said.
