Mini Presents Cooper SE JCW With Sporty Driving Characteristics But EVs

JAKARTA - After presenting the latest Countryman with a touch of John Cooper Works (JCW), Mini also launched the latest Cooper with a similar touch but not an internal combustion car (ICE), but as an Electric Vehicle (EV).

MINI Cooper SE in the latest John Cooper Works trim combines the desire for iconic design, legendary performance, and sustainable mobility. This is a symbol of driving efficiency and pleasure," Stefanie Wurst, as Head of Mini, said on the company's website, Wednesday, December 6.

Like the characteristics of JCW in general, this Mini Cooper SE is wrapped with a traditional red, white, and black color scheme accompanied by symbols of the flags of the front PIlots. The appearance of this car is getting sporty with 18-inch rims patterned with ten fingers with striking red accents.

Meanwhile, the headlights of the hatchback are equipped with an LED accompanied by two horizontal DRL lights while confirming the minimalist design of this vehicle. The lines of the engine hood in the body emphasize the character of sporty.

On the back, the Cooper SE JCW is equipped with a diffuser. Then, the radiator lattice and the logo are given a glossy black touch. The visual highlights cover the contrast roof and the rear of the rearview mirror in Chilli Red color.

Just like the outside, the interior is given a sporty impression with a JCW seat combining synthetic leather materials decorated with red stitches and knitted materials with various colors on the shoulder of the chair. The concept of black and red colors is continued on 2d knitted which covers the interior of the door and dashboard. Meanwhile, the passenger's side is decorated with plaid flag patterns.

The British manufacturer also features an OLED display in the middle of a high-resolution dashboard, which brings information about navigation, media, telephone, and climate regulation.

Brands also provide 'MINI Experiences Modes', offering a variety of driving modes as desired, including Go-Kart mode which has become the hallmark of driving from Mini.

In this mode, the driver will feel the sensation of going-kart driving by presenting the sound of engine imitation and the optimized thrust response from the gas pedal to increase the sporty driving style.

Despite having a different change from the standard variant, Mini still maintains internal power in Cooper SE JCW. Which means, the hatchback has a single electric motor with a strength of 215 dk and a torque of 330 Nm. With this runway, this car can run from 0 to 100 km/hour in just 6.7 seconds.

For the battery, the manufacturer gives it a 54.2 kWh battery capable of reaching a range of up to 402 km and can be charged from 10 to 80 percent within 30 minutes with a fast charger of 95 kW.

Although the prices and launches of this car to the market have not been disclosed, Mini has succeeded in proving that it can present the JCW variant in the EV lineup by maintaining the characteristics of driving which is fun.
