Planting Trees With Residents In NTT, Jokowi: Real Actions To Face Climate Change
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) planted trees with the community and students at Embung Anak Munting, West Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Province, on Tuesday, December 5.
The tree planting activity has been carried out in stages in a number of areas. Jokowi assessed that this was a form of real action by Indonesia to deal with climate change that occurred.
"Indeed, we want to move greening, planting trees, so that related to climate change we really act," Jokowi said in his official statement, quoted Wednesday, December 6.
Jokowi said that the types of plants planted together on this occasion were very diverse, ranging from aesthetic plants to non-ethnics.
"Tanaman yang ditanam juga tanaman yang banyak tanaman endemik, seperti tadi munting, bodhi, tabebuya, ada mulih, ada ketapang," katanya.

Jokowi said that currently, a number of nurseries centers in the country have been spread that are able to produce tree seeds. The President gave examples such as the Maremian Rumpin which can produce 6 million seeds, the Maize of Labuan Bajo 5 million seeds, the Maize of Mangrove Bali 6 million seeds, to the Maize of the Minister of Tourism 15 million seeds.
"But if you have made the seeds, right, they must be planted, continue to be planted so that the country will really be greener and become the lungs of the world," he added.
