Three Victims Of The Marapi Eruption From Riau Survived, 2 Others Died

PEKANBARU - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) said three victims of the eruption of Mount Marapi asal Riau survived and two others died.

Head of the Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Division of the Riau Province BPBD, Rozita, has launched four students and one catering worker from Riau who was affected by the eruption of Mount Marapi in West Sumatra.

According to him, the victims of the eruption of Marapi asal Riau who died were Riau Islamic University students Muhammad Adan and Nazatra Adzin Mufadhal. The bodies of the two have been brought back to Pekanbaru by their families.

Meanwhile, three victims of the eruption of Marapi asal Riau who survived, Rozita said, are currently still undergoing treatment at the hospital.

According to him, Aditya Sukirno Putra (21), a student at the Riau Islamic University, underwent treatment at the Dr. Achmad Mochtar Regional General Hospital, Bukittinggi, due to burns to his right leg, left wrist, and buttocks.

The catering worker from Pekanbaru City, M Ridho Kurniawan, continued, is also still undergoing intensive treatment at the ER at Dr. Hospital. Achmad Mochtar because his feet and hands were injured.

Muhammad Arbi Muharman (22), a resident of Pekanbaru City who is registered as a student at Riau University, underwent treatment at the ER at Dr. Achmad Mochtar Hospital because several parts of his body suffered serious burns.

Mount Marapi, which is located in Agam Regency and Tanah Datar Regency, West Sumatra Province, experienced an eruption on Sunday (3/12) at 14:54 WIB and spewed volcanic ash as high as 3,000 meters.

A Total Of 20 Climbers Died

Acting Head of the West Sumatra BKSDA (West Sumatra) Dian Indriati confirmed that 20 climbers died as a result of the eruption of Mount Marapi. 12 of them have been identified.

"We can convey here that the total number of climbers remains at 75 according to the booking order data. Congratulations 52 people, 40 without serious injuries, 2 serious injuries, 20 people died with 12 identified records," said Dian Indriati in an interview with Kompas Malam TV program quoted by VOI, Tuesday, December 5.

It was also stated that there were 3 climbers who were still on evacuation trips. "3 people are still in the process of going down to the evacuation process," he said.
