Sandiaga Calls The October 2023 Tourist Visit Dominated From Malaysia, Capai 14.16 Percent
Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno said, based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the achievement of foreign tourist visits in October 2023 was dominated by visits from Malaysia.
"Based on the country of origin, foreign tourists visiting in October 2023 were dominated by 14.16 percent of foreign tourists from Malaysia, Australia 13.18 percent, Singapore 9.17 percent, China 7.7 percent, and Timor Leste 6.02 percent," said Minister Sandiaga in a written statement, Tuesday, December 5.
Minister Sandiaga said that foreign tourist visits were dominated by air transportation modes in October 2023 which reached 707,584 with the main gate of I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport at 46.06 percent and Soekarno Hatta, followed by sea transportation modes recorded at 114,022 and land transportation modes at 23,543.
The cumulative number of foreign tourist visits from January to October 2023 has reached 9,942,004 million, an increase of 124.30 percent on an annual basis or year on year (yoy) compared to the same period in 2022.

"This number has exceeded 111.67 percent of the target limit for tourist visits that have been set," he said.
Meanwhile, the achievement of foreign tourist visits on a monthly basis (month to month) in October 2023 decreased by 8.57 percent, reaching 978,500 thousand visits, and in September recorded an achievement of 1.070 million visits.
Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the number of foreign tourist visits in October 2023 reached 978.50 thousand visits. Consisting of 845.15 thousand main entrances and 133.35 thousand border entrances.
