Al Ittihad Vs Sepahan: The Tigers Ensure To The Last 16 Of The Asian Champions League
JAKARTA - Al Ittihad secured the last match of Group C of the 2023/2024 Asian Champions League with a victory over Sepahan 2-1 at King Abdulaziz Sport City Stadium, Tuesday, December 5, 2023.
Appearing as the host, Al Ittihad took the lead when the game had only been running for 14 minutes. Saleh Al Amri opened the scoring first.
Al Ittihad almost doubled their lead through the spot towards the end of the first half. However, the referee decided to cancel the penalty after a review of the assistant referee (VAR) video. The 1-0 advantage lasted until the break.
In the second half, The Tigers, nicknamed Al Ittihad, were even missed. When the game had only been running for three minutes, Sepahan equalized through Ramin Razaeian's goal using Mohammad Daneshgar's pass.
The match after that was tough tends to be tough. Two yellow cards came out of the referee's pocket in just one minute.
Luckily, Al Ittihad managed to score a second goal. Joao Filipe was on the scoreboard in the 69th minute after using Abderrazak Hamdallah's pass.
