Garuda Boss Bans Employees To Commissioners From Using Free Tickets During The 2024 Nataru Period
JAKARTA - President Director of Garuda Indonesia Irfan Setiaputra prohibits employees, employees' families to commissioners from using concession facilities or free tickets during the 2023 Christmas and 2024 New Year (Nataru) holidays.
The goal is for people who buy tickets to fly.
Meanwhile, Garuda Indonesia has set the Nataru 2024 period from 18 December 2023 to 8 January 2024.
"So not a single Garuda person or Garuda family is allowed to fly on that date to ensure that the public who pays the opportunity," he said in a meeting with Commission VI of the DPR, Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday, December 4.
Therefore, Irfan said that if later the members of Commission VI of the DPR meet with Garuda employees or directors during that period, it is certain that they will pay for tickets like other people.
So, if they meet Garuda people, they pay like the general public pays. If they want to keep traveling (using discount tickets or free Garuda), they should leave before 17 (December)," he said.
Irfan admitted that the Garuda union objected to the policy.

However, he stressed, his party did not eliminate the facility but only limited its users.
"Indeed, the union reminds us that it feels the right to fly. We do not lose its rights, we only ask employees and directors and commissioners to fly on these dates using company facilities. So we do not eliminate the facilities, we only limit their use," he said.
In the 2024 Nataru transportation, Irfan said, his party provided 102 aircraft with the availability of seats, namely 1,890,642 seats.
"So when asked about Garuda's readiness, we are very ready. Because Nataru is our peak season, apart from Eid. So 102 aircraft we provide for this peak season. We have prepared around 1,890,624 seats. This is a combination of Garuda's flight as well as Citilink," he explained.
