IKN Basic Infrastructure Development Progress Reaches 60 Percent

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) said that the progress of the first phase of the development of the basic infrastructure for the capital city of Nusantara (IKN) has reached 60 percent.

Spokesperson for the Ministry of PUPR Endra S Atmawidjaja said the construction of the first phase of basic infrastructure for IKN is targeted for completion in 2024.

"The IKN progress is now 60 percent for stage 1. Yes, hopefully we can use it in August 2024 for the ceremony," said Endra when met at the GBK Jakarta area, quoted Monday, December 4.

The Ministry of PUPR itself carried out support for infrastructure in IKN in 2020-2024 amounting to IDR 60.99 trillion, consisting of 85 work packages.

Regarding the details, the basic infrastructure development for phase 1 in IKN consists of 40 work packages with a total allocated budget of IDR 24.52 trillion.

Meanwhile, for the second phase carried out after March 2023, the budget is IDR 36.46 trillion for 45 work packages with the latest progress reported at 3 percent.

The acceleration of basic infrastructure development continues to be accelerated along with the massive investment in IKN. In fact, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is optimistic that the overall IKN will be completed within the next 15 to 20 years.

President Jokowi previously also said that the commitment of state investment and a number of private sectors in IKN would reach around Rp45 trillion by the end of 2023.

In detail, the total investment injected by PMDN at the groundbreaking last September reached IDR 23 trillion. Then, in November 2023 it was IDR 12 trillion, and in December 2023 it is targeted to reach IDR 10 trillion.
