In the eyes of Hermawi Franziskus Taslim, young Doni really aspires to become a soldier, even in the midst of his brilliant study at Donxim-Padang High School.
"He was willing to move to SMA Negeri 1 Padang, because at that time there was a phenomenon that some people believed that state high school graduates were more likely to be accepted in AKABRI, especially the army," Hermawi said in his statement, Monday, December 4.
Berpostur tinggi berstaduk, doni tergolong jelas dengan sejumlah jabatan strategis yang pernah digemban diantaranya menjadi Danrem Suryakencana Bogor, Pangdam Pattimura, kepala BNPB hingga menjabat sebagai ketua PPAD, jabatan disandang sampai akhir kehidupan.
Kenang Hermawi who is also the Secretary General of Nasdem, two very impressive moments to remember the deceased, first when he ended his duties as the Commander of Pattimura, I received a mandate from a number of Maluku community leaders who asked him to become the Governor of Maluku.
When it was conveyed to Doni, he just laughed and said short. "You political people can hehehehe, I am a soldier and will remain a soldier until the state declares retirement," he said.
The second moment after Doni was in the capacity of the commander of the Covid 19 eradication Task Force. When he met, Doni patted on his shoulder and said.
"Boss angku (Surya Paloh) was great. Then excitedly told how he barely came home working hard against COVID-19," said Hermawi.
