Bawaslu Reminds Lurah Not To Take Decisions To Benefit 2024 Election Participants
JAKARTA - The Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) of Bantul Regency reminded the village heads not to make decisions that benefit or harm one of the 2024 election participants.
Head of Bawaslu Bantul Regency, Didik Joko Nugroho, said his agency had given an appeal to all village heads and sub-district officials in Bantul Regency to maintain neutrality before, during and after the election campaign period.
"The village head and all sub-district officials must be neutral in the 2024 election and so that the village head does not make decisions that benefit or harm one of the election participants," he said in Bantul, Yogyakarta Special Region, Sunday, December 3, was confiscated by Antara.
According to him, these provisions are regulated in the direction of the Indonesian Bawaslu which has issued Instruction Letter Number 7 of 2023 concerning the Prevention of Election Violations.
The contents of the letter include the actions of the village head or other designations, village officials, members of the village deliberative body and village-owned business entities which are prohibited from the 2024 election campaign stage.
"Based on these instructions, Bawaslu Bantul also appealed to all members of the Bamuskal and managers of sub-district-owned business entities to maintain neutrality during the 2024 election campaign stage," he said.

In addition to giving appeals to the village heads and sub-district officials through various meetings and socialization, Bawaslu Bantul has also instructed the electoral supervisors to guard the neutrality of the village government apparatus.
"The ranks of election supervisors, both at the sub-district level and the kelurahan election supervisors, always ensure that the neutrality of all village officials is carried out properly," he said.
He added that during the campaign period from November 28, 2023 to February 10, 2024, Bawaslu Bantul also opened a complaint post on 17 panwaslu offices in sub-districts throughout Bantul Regency.
"The complaint post is opened in order to provide proactive efforts to monitor elections related to potential violations during the campaign period which lasts for 75 days," he said.
