PLN UID Jakarta Warns Residents To Beware Of Electricity In The Rainy Season

JAKARTA - PT PLN (Persero) Jakarta Raya's Main Distribution Unit (UID) appealed to the public to always be aware of electricity security when entering the rainy season. This is for the safety of the community.

The reason is, water is good electricity. If there is a flood and the electricity is still on, the electricity can be sent by the increasing water, so that it can be fatal.

General Manager of PLN Main Distribution Unit (UID) Jakarta Raya, Lasiran asked for community participation by immediately turning off the electricity in their respective homes when the water started to rise and enter the house. Turn off the electricity from kWh meter. Then contact PLN through PLN Mobile or Contact Center 123 if the electricity is still visible when the area is flooded.

"It is hoped that the community's independent participation in removing the electricity plugs and turning off the electricity from the kWh meter. If the area is flooded and the electricity is still on, it is hoped that the community in the residential area will immediately contact PLN through PLN Mobile or 123," he said.

Lasiran also appealed to the public to be responsive when they were hit by floods in their area. Electricity must be turned off immediately for the safety of the community itself.

Lasiran also emphasized that the electrical installation in the house is the responsibility of the owner of the house. PLN is only authorized up to kWh meter.

"We must both understand that the installation of electricity inside the house is the responsibility of the owner of the house, PLN has the authority only up to kWh customers," he said.

For information, the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) reminded that moderate rain to heavy intensity will still occur in the next week in Jakarta.
